Jan 05, 2011 - A U.S. company said Wednesday that it plans to begin construction this year in northern China of one of the world's biggest solar power plants.
First Solar Inc. signed an agreement in Beijing with a major state-owned utility company to build the massive plant in Ordos, a city in Inner Mongolia. The Arizona-based company, which makes thin-film photovoltaic modules, said in a press release that the project -- first announced in 2009 -- represents the first large-scale solar collaboration between China and the United States. {continued}
