Nov 15 2010 - ABOUT 60,000 green jobs could be created over the next decade as part of a shift to a low carbon economy, the Scottish Government has claimed.
A low carbon economic strategy set out by ministers today predicts the value of environmental and clean technologies to the economy could rise to £12 billion in the coming years.
But it comes just days after the boss of a global specialised energy company warned that long-term goals on renewable energy in Scotland ignored looming supply problems and risked the "lights going out".
The government strategy set out today will focus public sector support on low carbon industries and forging new private sector and international partnerships.
