Green industry's gender gap significant
Apr 13, 2013 - The Institute for Women’s Policy Research earlier this month released a report entitled “Quality Employment for Women in the Green Economy,” and sisters and brothers, the numbers are not as good as they should be.

“It is striking that 40 years after the passage of Title IX and almost 50 years after the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, women are still less than 5 percent of the workers in key middle-income, middle-class occupations,” the report said. “Perhaps even more striking is that, even though there is a glaring gender imbalance in green occupations, this issue is rarely explicitly addressed in workforce development and job creation strategies concerned with the green economy.” read more>>>
