CLEAN LA Solar: Local Solar Power

LA harnesses homegrown energy
May 9, 2012 - A majority of voters in Los Angeles want even more local solar powering their city, reveals a new poll conducted by the public research firm Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates (FM3) for the Vote Solar Initiative.

Specifically, 87 percent of respondents want the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) to use more electricity generated from solar; 79 percent want more from wind. Three-quarters, or 76 percent, want LADWP to do more to expand the use of local rooftop solar. And 81 percent support LADWP increasing its local solar goal to 1,200 MW -- a move which is supported by Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike. read more>>>
