Green: Call for higher investment

Direct investment into projects is what's needed, I'm sure the UK like others is no different than us here in the U.S. as to many experienced trades not doing their professions! Not just the trades but the engineers and architects etc. are more then waiting for that accumulated wealth at the top to flow rapidly down so everyone benefits!

Call for higher investment in UK's green technology sector


01/02/2011 - There have been calls from the green business industry for the government to place increased investment in the UK's green technology sector.

A spokesman for the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT), which promotes globally sustainable technologies, highlighted the green skills shortage seen in the UK saying,

"Training and education are actually the key issues the government should be focusing on,". Later adding that, "The lack of people with the necessary skills is actually a bigger problem than resource depletion when it comes to moving to a zero carbon society."

The need for more skilled workers within the IT, science, engineering and technology industries, was further highlighted by a recent report from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). {continued}
