Apollo Alliance: Catalyzing the ‘Clean Energy Revolution’


November 23, 2010 - Across the country, thousands of employers and even more potential employees rush to take advantage of environmentally-friendly industries, ranging from solar power, wind power, alternative energies, biofuels, hybrid and electric cars, and numerous other endeavors. But those unfamiliar with the efforts of non-governmental organizations to assist green business in establishing their economic presence might not have heard of such associations as the Apollo Alliance—a major force in bringing long-lasting green change to America, and leading worldwide innovation in green industries.

The Apollo Alliance was founded in late 2001 by United States Senator Maria Cantwell; International President of United Steelworkers, Leo Gerard; United States Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr.; and Carl Pope, Executive Director of the Sierra Club. Their stated intentions are to “catalyze a clean energy revolution that will put millions of Americans to work in a new generation of high-quality, green-collar jobs,” {read rest}
