Where Are the Green Jobs?

As long as the private capital depends on the public capital to do it's needs, infrastructure repairs and maintenance as well, and their lackeys in congress, and state legislatures, keep blocking or obstructing the public needs that the private wealth require to growth, the jobs will be stagnant or less then as they are now and have been.

July 6, 2011 - Remember all those “green-collar jobs” that could “never be out-sourced”? They were an important part of President Obama’s 2008 campaign, but as the Great Recession drags on against the backdrop of political paralysis in Washington D.C., a lot of unemployed people are still waiting for the green jobs to show up.

A new study finds solid promise in the energy retrofit industry. According to the analysis, the Better Buildings Initiative introduced by President Obama in February 2011 would create more than 114,000 jobs if fully implemented. Many of these jobs would come directly from the manufacture, shipping, and installation of building products and equipment. Related job opportunities—in fields from food service and retail to design and engineering—are expected to flourish as well.

The analysts predicted that a secondary economic stimulus would also result from improved cash flow among commercial building owners, who are likely to spend their combined energy savings of more than $1.4 billion on other priorities, creating even more jobs. read more>>>
