When Microgrids Come in Handy

Lights go out ? Don't worry, microgrids take over
November 12, 2012 - Then the lights go out, you're left sitting in the dark and it's not too favorable when you're in the shower with shampoo in your hair either.

That's where microgrids come in handy. Being that the U.S. Electrical grid is around 50 years old, no significant upgrades have been made to it. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (N.R.E.L.) is working on achieving upgrading the grid to work more efficiently in case of loss of power or maintaining a balance in the power grid.
