MSU students and Green construction

Green construction project benefits MSU students
2 July 2012 - College students in various architecture fields have been working on something in the field of "Green Construction."

They're transforming the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum into something that is one of a kind.

Students from Mississippi State University are installing a green roof system at the museum; it's one of five phases of renovations.

"This is a great opportunity that the School of Architecture has given us, to be able to come on out here and get some hands-on work," says Salena Tew, student. "[Really] there's only so much you can learn in the classroom."

A key element to this challenging project was coming up with an idea of taking an old gas station canopy and transforming the feature by making something out of pre-existing parts. read more>>>
