Energy Security Coordination Act

Unless you are in DC, Republicans and Democrats seem to agree on energy security. I wanted to let you know that yesterday the Energy Security Coordination Act was passed unanimously through the Senate in California. This bill, sponsored by the Truman National Security Project, shows the bipartisan support of aggressively pursuing policies that strengthen the energy security of the United States by promoting the development of clean, domestic energy resources.

We applaud the Senators on both sides of the aisle who, in their suport of SB 1409, have shown that energy and climate security aren't about left or right - they are about keeping America safe. Republicans and Democrats in California agree and now it is time for our elected officials in Washington to get on board with the Department of Defense in recognizing that energy security is a strategic national security interest of the United States.

Help spread the word and tell them to support the Department of Defense's investments in renewable energy and alternative fuels.

Call your member of Congress (202-224-3121) and tell them to support the Department of Defense on clean energy issues.
