More Builders Thinking Green

Recovery has more builders thinking green
Mar. 24, 2012 - Recent numbers show the construction industry is starting to recover from the recent economic downturn that saw construction activity slow considerably over the past three years.

The American Institute of Architects' Consensus Construction Forecast suggests non-residential construction will increase by a modest 6.4 percent in 2012 and also predicts sustainable building projects will continue to grow at healthy pace.

Maybe it's because of a perceived value that sustainable buildings are better buildings, or a bottom-line approach to money saved through energy efficiency, but building owners are re-evaluating the viability of their current practices on all fronts and realizing the benefits of sustainable construction.
