Charlotte Motor Speedway to go Green

Charlotte Motor Speedway to get 500-kw solar project
December 30, 2011 - A Banner Elk solar developer plans to build a 500-kilowatt installation at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Eagle Electron Power Partners filed notice Wednesday with the N.C. Utilities Commission for a $2.9 million project that is expected to be operational in August. The power will be sold to Duke Energy. The renewable energy credits for the energy produced will also be sold, but the filing does not specify a buyer.

Chris Quinn of Eagle Electron says he cannot comment on the project, which is in its early stages. read more>>>
