Apr 08, 2011 - How cool is this? Replacing or recharging batteries may become a thing of the past if this idea by New Zealand researchers can be commercialized: wearable batteries.

They are developing "wearable energy harvesters" capable of converting human movement into battery power. These would be light, soft, form-fitting, stretchy materials with mechanical properties that match human muscle. {continued}
