Solar: Record 2010 Growth

Just think where we would be, and if they kept what we did here, if some thirty years ago we had allowed the continuation of the old American way of economic growth and allowed to advance what had been started especially as to solar, I had been a part of installing some of those early attempts. Instead we allowed the old guard greedy to beat that down and start on the road to raeganomic trickle down capitalism, gainiong huge amounts of capital to hoard and use to keep the status quo!! One thing we would be, still the once global leader we were envied for back then instead of following many others who are quickly overcoming in these advancements, even so called third world countries, I miss that old American way, but many seem to want the corporate non advancing mentality to rule!!!!

U.S. solar industry reports record 2010 growth

Mar 10, 2011 - The U.S. solar power market grew a record 67% last year, making it the fastest-growing energy sector, the industry reports Thursday.

Its market share jumped from $3.6 billion in 2009 to $6 billion in 2010, helped by federal tax credits and declining technology costs, according to a report by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and GTM Research.

Enough solar power was installed last year to power about 200,000 homes, the report says, noting that more than 65,000 homes and businesses added solar water or pool heating systems. In particular, the photovoltaics or solar panel part of the market soared most, more than doubling from 2009. {continued}
