February 7, 2011 - The North Carolina Energy Office has doled out $8.5 million in federal stimulus funds to 43 projects statewide, Gov. Beverly Perdue announced Monday.
The awards address one or more of three main goals:
• To make downtown-based local governments and small businesses more energy efficient
• To promote conservation and use of renewable fuels in industrial properties, and
• To improve energy efficiency in large commercial and nonprofit facilities.
“These investments are more than much-needed job creating investments in our communities,” said Perdue in a news release. {continued}
