January 17, 2011 - It's time Michigan became even more creative with some of the resources we have available at our fingertips: a large agricultural industry and a work force skilled in advanced manufacturing.
These two seemingly unrelated areas of strength both remain important sectors for our state. It only makes sense to marry the two together in some mutually beneficial way to create more jobs. And it begins with the new Greater Mid Michigan Bio-Manufacturing Alliance.
The alliance was established to connect these two industries and build a strong bio-manufacturing sector in Greater Lansing, and beyond. The alliance, a partnership with Prima Civitas Foundation, has brought on Tracey Maroney as executive director who will help establish and maintain a network of auto manufacturers, scientists, engineers, farmers and educators committed to resolving the industry's work force challenges. {continued}
