January 18, 2011 - Duke Energy will work with China’s ENN Group to develop China’s first “eco city” in Langfang, near Beijing.
The companies signed an agreement on the project Tuesday in Washington, D.C. Chinese government officials and representatives from the U.S. departments of state and energy attended the signing. It coincides with a diplomatic visit by Chinese President Hu Jintao, who will be discussing trade and other issues with President Barack Obama.
ENN is developing the eco city. Duke will collaborate and apply what it learns there in deploying clean-power technologies in the United States. {continued}
