"Green Energy Hub"

Neighbours get green feeling


4 December 2010 - It may be the most important initiative ever launched by the Chamber of Commerce Brantford- Brant.

It is certainly one of the largest and quite likely one of the most challenging.

"As a chamber, we have long been on record as being in favour of regional economic development," said chamber president Barry English.

"We've long believed that a regional economic development strategy is what's necessary to attract industry to the area. We need people from Brantford, Brant County, Haldimand, Six Nations and Norfolk working together.

"That's how we bring industry to the area."

Looking to the future and for a way to get all five communities on board, the chamber launched its regional economic development program, which failed.

Undaunted, chamber officials went back to the drawing board to come up with a new plan. {read rest}
