Heating materials 'needed to boost green construction'


08/12/2010 - Green and sustainable building targets in the UK will be more easily attainable if the construction industry makes use of existing heating materials, a new report has suggested.

The Committee on Climate Change Fourth Carbon Budget survey advised increasing the use of various heating materials throughout the residential and industrial sectors in the 2020s.

Supply-side decarbonisation can be achieved through heat pumps, it added, which can reach a penetration of 25 per cent in housing and 60 per cent in commercial structures by 2030. {read rest}
