Planning Green With Effective Construction Management


November 1, 2010 - Many educational institutions object to LEED certification because they believe it will cost more to construct and certify, but research indicates that LEED-certified projects may come in under budget — or may cost only 1 to 2 percent more.


The October issue of American School & University contends that a LEED project does not have to cost more, but effective construction management is essential. If there are any additional costs, the article says, they may be partially or fully recouped in lower operating and maintenance costs over the life cycle of the building or through energy efficiencies. {read rest}
